Witness says chaplain secured religious accommodation that let him complete military training

A witness said a military chaplain intervened to secure a religious accommodation that allowed him to complete Advanced Individual Training at Fort Lee, Virginia, after he had been told he would be deported and was considering leaving service.

As a result, the witness said, he completed AIT without incident and earned two certificates of achievement, one for leadership as a squad leader and one for service as a class leader.
