Marina vendors and residents urge city to fix parking and shuttle access; staff says mobility plan and private‑lot leases are being pursued

Marina residents, shuttle operators and environmental researchers told the Riviera Beach CRA board that limited parking around the Marina and the ferry/shuttle to Peanut Island is constraining operations and public access.

Speakers including Scott Lewis, who said he "firmly believe[s] that is our future" without a consolidated traffic plan, described concern about projected additional vehicle trips along the Broadway corridor and asked the city to include all related projects in a single traffic analysis. Shuttle operators Anthony Miller and Bernadette Nunez described being short "about 100 to 150 spaces" on busy days and said the loss of an overflow area north of 13th Street has left operations strained.

Staff response and short-term options CRA staff and the executive director told the board the agency is conducting a mobility plan study and that the next mobility workshop will be May 12 at the Wells Center. Staff also said they have reached out to private lot owners, including a lot identified in the meeting as owned by "Viking," and will pursue temporary lease or permit solutions for overflow parking while longer-term mobility and parking strategies are considered.
