Council to consider surplus vehicles and equipment at next meeting; proceeds to general fund

City staff described a combined surplus listing March 23 that includes vehicles, trailers, shelving and other equipment from the police department, parks and recreation and maintenance.
The staff representative (introduced in the agenda as coming from Mr. Graves) said the items will be sent to public auction and sold to the highest bidder, with proceeds returning to the city’s general fund. When a councilor asked whether the sales are open to the public, staff confirmed auctions are open and the highest bidder wins the items.
Council said it would take the surplus list up at the next regular meeting in two weeks rather than act that night.
