Waite Park council approves consent items, moves State of the City indoors and pays bills

At its meeting the Waite Park City Council approved routine consent agenda items that included temporary public works employee approvals, an MOU modifying police administration summertime work schedules and fire department appointments. The consent agenda passed after a motion and second; one member voiced opposition during the vote.
Following the consent agenda and the discussion and approval of Bid Package 1 for the Public Safety Facility, the council moved to pay the city’s bills; the motion was made, seconded and approved.
Shauna, a city staff member, updated council members on event scheduling: because of forecasted cold, wind and rain, the State of the City presentation will be moved indoors to Pizza Ranch at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday in coordination with Falcon National Bank, the event partner. An open house planned for later that day has been postponed pending further scheduling with staff and venue availability.
Council members announced two community meetings taking place the following night, including a Third Street County open house and the Stearns County League meeting. The council adjourned at approximately 6:40 p.m.
