The Sumner County Library Board Personnel Committee unanimously agreed on a new Director Hiring Policy during its meeting on Monday, Jan. 6, 2025, directing staff to present the policy to the full Library Board for ratification.
Chairman Jim Holcomb called the meeting to order at 2:34 p.m. in room 112 of the Sumner County Administration Building. Trustee Joanna Daniels gave the invocation. Daniels moved to amend the meeting agenda; Trustee Kayley Wilson seconded the motion and the committee approved it unanimously.
The committee approved the Nov. 6, 2024 minutes on a motion from Trustee Kayley Wilson, seconded by Trustee Erika Grammer. The committee then considered New Business, discussing a proposed Director Hiring Policy intended to govern the process for filling any future director vacancy. Committee members reviewed the policy and reached unanimous agreement on the language; the committee did not ratify the policy itself but voted to forward it to the next Library Board meeting for formal ratification.
No members of the public were present for public recognition or comment. The meeting closed after a motion from Trustee Kayley Wilson, seconded by Trustee Erika Grammer, to adjourn; that motion passed unanimously.
The committee’s agreed policy will be listed for action at the next full Library Board meeting for final consideration and ratification.
