Joe, the CDA representative, told the board the CDA is promoting business outreach events and that the housing trust fund has about $1,000,000 locally while Scott County will administer an additional roughly $4,000,000 for eligible affordable-housing projects across the county.
"We have about 1000000 dollars in that trust fund right now," Joe said and added that the county will provide about another $4,000,000 for eligible projects. He said staff will meet with cities across Scott County about how to use those dollars and that an application process will be released next week as the committee updates policies and procedures.
Board members clarified that the fund is intended to be countywide and noted there are statutory limits on allowable uses; staff confirmed an application will follow the committee’s revisions to procedures and said the CDA expects further allocations in 2026 and 2027.
The CDA also described upcoming business events (Welcome Wednesday and the Fast Track Challenge) and encouraged cities and developers to review the application when released. No formal board action was taken on the housing trust fund at this meeting.
