The Bozeman City Commission appointed Danielle Nicholas to an at-large seat on the Historic Preservation Advisory Board for a term ending July 1, 2027. Commissioner Sweeney restated a prior disclosure that the selected applicant had donated to her campaign and hosted a fundraiser; she said the interview committee nevertheless determined the applicant was the most qualified.
Commissioner Sweeney moved to appoint Danielle Nicholas; the motion was seconded and approved unanimously. No public comment was offered on the appointment.
Sweeney explained the basis for the disclosure: the appointee has followed the landmark program and the Neighborhood Conservation Overlay District (NCOD) design guidelines and, in the commissioner’s view, can “hit the ground running” on the board. The commission recorded the disclosure and proceeded with the appointment vote.
