Village staff presented a draft 2022 community survey to the Lindenhurst Village Board on Aug. 8 and trustees offered comments that staff will incorporate before mailing. The Board agreed the survey will be mailed to households in September and survey results are expected in November; responses will help shape the Village strategic plan and budget priorities.
Administrator Clay Johnson told the Board the 2018 survey provided a baseline for resident priorities and that the 2022 follow-up will help the Village refine service and budget decisions. Trustees reviewed the draft questions in the meeting packet and shared feedback; the minutes indicate the Board requested edits and clarifications that will be incorporated into the final instrument.
During the public-comment period, residents praised recent Village projects and staff work. One resident asked that the community survey include a question about PACE bus service along Grand Avenue. Dave Mohr, representing the Lindenhurst Park District, attended the meeting for a separate agenda item about a Park District facility addition and was available to answer related questions.
According to the minutes, staff expects to mail the survey in September and publish results in November 2022. The Board did not record any formal vote on the survey text at the Aug. 8 meeting; the entry in the minutes describes review and direction to staff to finalize questions.
