Lindenhurst board approves park-district parking variation, releases executive-session minutes and approves August bills

The Lindenhurst Village Board on Aug. 8 adopted an ordinance allowing a parking-variation for an addition to the Lindenhurst Park District recreation facility at 2200 E. Grass Lake Road, approved a resolution releasing certain executive-session minutes and authorized payment of August invoices totaling $353,225.31.
The ordinance (22-8-2239) — recommended unanimously by the Plan Commission on Aug. 3 — permits the Park District to reorganize existing interior rooms to create additional multipurpose and office space without expanding the existing parking lot. Trustee Dawn Suchy moved to adopt the ordinance; Trustee Patty Chybowski seconded. The roll-call vote among trustees present was four ayes, zero nays, and the motion carried.
The Board also voted to approve Resolution 22-8-2240R following a review of executive-session minutes. Trustee Pat Dickson moved, Trustee Ron Grace seconded, and the roll call was four ayes, zero nays.
On routine financial business, Trustee Dawn Suchy moved, seconded by Trustee Pat Dickson, to approve the first set of bills for August in the amount of $353,225.31 for invoices due on or before Aug. 8, 2022. The roll call recorded four ayes and the motion carried. Separately, Trustee Suchy read the Treasurer's Report for July: the total for all Village accounts on July 31, 2022 was $13,812,421.19.
Dave Mohr, representing the Lindenhurst Park District, was present to respond to questions about the proposed addition. According to the materials presented to the Board, the project is intended to reorganize existing rooms rather than add programming space that would increase parking demand; the Park District requested a variation from the off-street parking requirements to reflect that plan.
The meeting record shows the motions and vote tallies as recorded by the Village Clerk; the minutes do not record any trustee votes against the measures. The Board also adopted a proclamation recognizing the Nu Lambda Sigma chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., by a separate unanimous vote earlier in the meeting.
The Board adjourned at 7:55 p.m.
