Board approves partnerships and contracts to support Westlawn and other schools

Daria described supplements for Westlawn that continue a partnership with Pfeiffer Wire and said the incentives are intended to help faculty and staff meet academic progress goals; the board approved the proposal. She noted an MOU for modern manufacturing with Pfeiffer Wire had been approved at a prior meeting and emphasized the company’s role as a partner.
Dr. Pope presented a contract with Kids First to provide teachers to fill recent vacancies at Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary and Arcadia and to supply a math coach at Westlawn Middle. Pope said the district launched a math initiative called Madeline Math in January and that recent teacher vacancies prompted the contract to provide immediate instructional support. The board approved the Kids First contract by voice vote.
