Facilities staff presented the Central High School track resurfacing project (bid 2025-7). The lowest responsive bidder, Conoco Poly Sport, submitted a bid of $472,300; staff said that figure is about $277,000 below the project budget.
Project timing was estimated to begin May 1 and finish July 15 so work will be completed before the fall sports schedule. Staff said pre-construction testing allowed them to resurface without full removal, saving a significant portion of the cost. When asked whether contingency exists in case costs increase, staff confirmed contingency is built into the project and do not expect it to impact homecoming or other events.
The board approved the contract by voice vote.
