Fairfield-Suisun board approves 2026–27 tentative teachers’ contract

The Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District Board of Education on April 23 approved a final tentative agreement with the Fairfield-Suisun Unified Teachers Association covering the 2026–27 school year, district officials said.

The board voted to approve the agreement, which the superintendent and trustees described as the result of an “amicable relationship” between district negotiators and the union. Board members praised the collaboration that, according to trustees, helped the district avoid strikes and layoffs experienced elsewhere.

Superintendent Sachs told the board the district was “privileged” to consider fair contracts with its labor partners and credited teamwork for reaching the deal. Pam Williams, identified as president of the employee organization that represents district staff, said the union hoped for a unanimous yes on the contract during her remarks earlier in the meeting.
