Amy Walcker, executive assistant to the city manager, introduced Mike Schultz of Granicus, who presented the vendor's slide deck describing how the platform will centralize resident requests and communications. After council questions and no public comment, Councilmember Tillman moved and Councilmember Cloven seconded the authorization. The motion passed unanimously, 5‑0.
Under the approved terms, the city will fund only the first year of service initially; the council noted the source of funding for subsequent years will be determined later. Mayor Wan and councilmembers emphasized the contract was for implementation and initial service and that staff will return with recommended funding options for ongoing operation.
The council did not attach additional conditions on implementation in the motion. Staff indicated the contract covers platform setup and three years of service; specific operational procedures and reporting requirements will be handled by city staff under normal contracting oversight.
The council recessed briefly after the vote and continued the evening's remaining agenda items.
