Burleson council approves zoning change at 116 North Clark Street

The City Council on April 6 approved a zoning change request (ZC26-001) for 116 North Clark Street, moving the lot from an SF-7 single-family district to Central Commercial.
Tony McElwain, development services director, presented the application on behalf of owner Jonathan Cook and applicant Blue Swirl LLC (Chamberlain Smith). Staff said 30 nearby property owners were notified, a sign was posted on the property and Planning & Zoning recommended approval by an 8–0 vote.
The council opened the public hearing at 05:58, heard no public comment, closed the hearing at 05:59 and then approved the ordinance on final reading; a council member moved to approve and the motion passed with six votes recorded and one absent.
What’s next: The zoning map is updated and staff will implement the permitted uses and administrative steps associated with the Central Commercial district for the property.
