North Haledon council administers oaths to two new officers; consent agenda lists contract award and $3.77M bills authorization

At a December 11, 2024 work session, the North Haledon Borough Council moved to deviate from the regular order of business to present community awards and process personnel appointments, and the motion carried on a roll-call vote with all members present voting in the affirmative.
Councilwoman Donna Puglisi moved to deviate and Council Member Rocco Luisi seconded. The deviation allowed Puglisi to present certificates of achievement to the borough’s 3rd and 4th grade girls’ and boys’ soccer teams and to proceed with appointments to the police department. The minutes list the youth recipients by name and note that Puglisi handed out the certificates.
Following the deviation, Councilwoman Puglisi administered the oath of office to Officer Nicholas Hauser (appointed probationary police officer) and to Class II Special Gianny Falconi. The minutes state that Chief of Police Todd Darby “said a few words about both officers,” and record that the oaths were administered; no separate roll-call on the individual appointments is recorded in the minutes.
