The Burleson City Council voted on April 6 to approve both a real estate contract and a related performance agreement for city-owned property at 112 Southeast Gardens Boulevard.
Alex Phillips, the city’s economic development director, presented the project at second/final reading. The sale (RFP 2025-006) met the $500,000 minimum bid; the development envisions four to five commercial flex buildings ranging from roughly 2,900 to 5,900 square feet each. The council was told two separate recorded votes were required and, because of electronic-voting technical difficulties, both votes were taken manually with each recorded as five in favor, one abstention and one absent.
The performance agreement with BTX Flex LLC was presented as a financing/performance instrument tied to the planned commercial-flex buildout; staff said the package had been discussed at a previous meeting and returned for final approval. Council members asked routine procedural questions, and staff confirmed the votes were separate motions as required.
What’s next: With both ordinances approved on final reading, staff will implement closing processes on the sale contract and monitor compliance with the performance agreement’s milestones.
