Students, coaches and program leads presented accomplishments and upcoming events during the Oak Park - River Forest SD 200 board meeting on March 26.
Coaches described season highlights: the boys’ wrestling team won its first team trophy since 2019 after a 33–31 victory over Barrington, with senior captain Zev Kranzke scoring a last‑second takedown to clinch the match. Individual athletes were recognized for All‑State placements; one student was noted as heading to Johns Hopkins (corrected from transcript phrasing) and others were named for college commitments.
Student council reported on recent events including a Special Olympics basketball game, a theater production with five performances and roughly 150 students involved in cast, crew and orchestra; the council also summarized family events and a book drive. Coaches and student delegates praised the new pool and other facilities coming on line this fall and thanked staff and volunteers.
Board members and administrators offered congratulations and noted that several award recipients will compete at state or national events in the spring. The board did not take action related to these presentations; the items were acknowledgments and community updates.
