Legislative Committee approves judicial magistrate appointment, amends retaining-wall resolution and donates surplus equipment

At its Jan. 13 meeting the Sumner County Legislative Committee grouped three agenda items and approved them on a single motion: the appointment of Eric Lawson as Judicial Magistrate, an amendment to Resolution 2303-04 concerning retaining walls, and the nonprofit donation of surplus cabinets and folding chairs from the Sheriff’s Department. The grouped motion, moved by Comm. Matthew Shoaf and seconded by Comm. Jerry Becker, carried unanimously in the minutes.

Chairman Jeremy Mansfield moved approval of an item related to the Election Commission (item 9e) following earlier public comment supporting a proposed location; the committee’s recorded action says the motion carried unanimously but the minutes do not specify the approved location.
