Tony McElwain, Development Services director, said the application for a liquor store at 1679 Southwest Wilshire met the city’s supplemental regulations (no drive‑through or walk‑up window, independent entrance, and required distancing from other liquor stores). He noted public notices were mailed to property owners within 300 feet, the notice was published and PNZ recommended approval 7–0. Mayor opened the public hearing, received no in‑person opposition, and the council voted to approve the SUP on first and final reading.
Later the council considered a request from Robin Reyna for an escape‑room business at 138 N Wilson St in Old Town. McElwain said the property is in a commercial district and that an SUP is the proper vehicle for indoor amusement uses; Reyna described plans for a north‑side patio and additional wrap‑around parking the landlord plans to provide. Notices had been provided and PNZ recommended approval 7–0. After a short public comment period, council approved the SUP unanimously.
Both approvals were recorded on first and final reading.
