The Calimesa City Council voted unanimously March 16 to endorse Larry Smith for a special‑districts seat on the Western Riverside Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO).
Councilmembers said Smith’s experience — including past service on local city councils and his role on the San Antonio Pass Water Board, which represents water interests in the Pass area — would provide representation for Calimesa and neighboring communities. Councilmember Cundiff described Smith as a long‑time public servant whose presence on LAFCO would improve representation for the San Antonio Pass area.
Councilmember Molina moved to approve the endorsement and authorize the mayor to sign the letter; the motion was seconded and passed 4–0. The council did not request amendments to the endorsement letter.
The mayor indicated staff will prepare and transmit the signed endorsement letter on behalf of the city.
