Victorian Christmas Committee donates $1,000 to Brandon Park; committee cites 1,700 visitors

Peachy O'Connor, speaking for the Victorian Christmas Committee, presented a letter and offered a $1,000 designated donation to the Brandon Park Commission for tree replacement.
O'Connor recounted highlights from the committee's 2025 tour of homes, noting participation from historic homes including the JoJo Potts House and the Raleigh House Museum and reporting the event drew "at least, if not more, 1,700 visitors to the city of Williamsport from various counties." She said the committee includes about 14 to 16 volunteers and that Nan Young remains the group's matriarch.
"Victorian Christmas Committee would like to present Brandon Park Commission with 1000 dollars designated gift to be used specifically to replace some of the trees that need replaced that are dying in Brandon Park," O'Connor read from the letter. Councilmembers thanked the committee for the donation and for the community event's contributions to the city's historic district; the council approved acceptance of the donation 5-0.
The committee noted it will continue volunteer work in the Williamsport Cemetery spring cleanup and invited residents to contact the group with questions about the tour and donations.
