Sheri Van Laningham, the administrative assistant for district services, outlined her daily duties and was lauded by a colleague during a district event.
Van Laningham, who said she has worked with the district for 17 years, described overseeing purchase orders for the director of construction and the director of safety and security and supporting the Future Owasso Rams (FOR) program. "I schedule 90 practices a week," she said. "I take care of all the employee badges."
A colleague identified only as Presenter praised Van Laningham’s breadth of work across district sites: "Sherry Van Laningham does it all. There's not a sight in this district that she doesn't help support." The Presenter added that Van Laningham carried out those duties this year "while beating cancer," and called her "the epitome of what it means to be Ram Tuff."
Van Laningham listed the departments she works alongside—transportation, child nutrition, plant operations, nurses, safety and security and construction—and said the district slogan for the year, "to be your best," reflects the staff she works with. She closed by saying, "I'm Sheri Van Laningham, and I'm an Owasso Ram."
