The Town of Charlton Conservation Commission closed the public hearing for a proposed paver patio at 89 Nugget Drive and authorized issuance of the permit after the applicant described erosion-control measures and contractors’ plans.
The applicant (speaking at the hearing) said the project is a patio under an existing deck about 20 feet from the water, constructed with paver blocks, and that erosion controls — including straw wattles and removal of materials the same day — will be used. A presenter described the expected equipment as a small mini excavator and a skid steer and estimated two days of work.
Staff reviewed the application and described the scope as limited: removal of an unstable top of a failing retaining wall in the shoreline buffer and placement of riprap, plus paver installation under the existing deck. The commission closed the hearing by motion and voted in favor; the staff member said the permit would be issued on Monday.
What happens next: staff will issue the permit and monitor compliance with the order of conditions and required erosion controls.
