Calloway highlighted recent special events and facility improvements, saying the city partnered with the Shane Patton Memorial Foundation for a June 28 monument unveiling at Wilbur Square that “included a flyover that actually required Pentagon approval.” She reported that four new pickleball courts are now open at Veterans Memorial Park and that staff plan to add lighting (including exploring solar options), a water fountain and shade structures in future phases as funding allows. “So far, what we've heard from people is that they're really excited about it,” Calloway said.
