At its April 20 meeting Butler County’s Board of Supervisors approved a slate of resolutions and funding requests and approved the monthly claims list.
County Clerk Lori Aschoff presented multiple resolutions for board approval. The board approved Resolution 2026-12 (transfer from General to Road), Resolution 2026-13 (transfer to Senior Services Program), Resolution 2026-14 (Visitors Promotion Fund Administration & Disbursement Policy) and Resolution 2026-15 (Fiscal Year Expenditure & Delivery Compliance Policy). The board also approved a $1,000 Visitors Promotion Fund request for the 2026 David City Summer Fest, subject to the adopted policy. A copy of each resolution was filed with the County Clerk’s office.
Supervisors discussed a Region 5 request for an additional $2,601 in matching funds for FY2026-2027 to support behavioral health and pre-EPC services. County Attorney Julie Reiter noted Region 5’s role in providing behavioral health services and said the pre-EPC services save the county expense; Supervisor Scott Griess voted no and the motion passed otherwise.
The board also discussed surplus property disposal procedures and tabled development of a county policy. The claims docket for April 2026 was presented in detail and approved as submitted.
Sheriff Tom Dion provided a staffing update, saying a new certified full-time deputy will begin April 27; the deputy currently lives outside the county and the patrol vehicle will be parked in Saunders County until a local address is established. Chairman Steager adjourned the meeting at 11:31 a.m.
