Teresa, identified in the meeting as the ERC program lead, told the Fayette County Commission the highlighted portion of an available property would suit the day report center, describing a clinic and a two-story pharmacy area, a large conference room and basement space. "This is our day report center," she said, and walked commissioners through how the layout would support testing, reception and program space.
Teresa said the building is largely ready to occupy but needs internet and phone service restored and a small set of supplies and equipment, including a low-speed burnisher, mowers and a vacuum for the pharmacy area. She told the commission the facility’s existing camera system can be reused with the addition of a few extra cameras to cover blind hallways. "All those cameras are reusable with the exception of a couple of older ones in the lobby area," she said.
Commissioner S4 asked about cleaning and long-term maintenance; Teresa and staff said participants can provide custodial work and that county park or maintenance staff could assist. Commissioners discussed delegating purchasing authority: one commissioner asked that Ruth be allowed to purchase necessary items within her spending authority and the motion was approved. The commission also asked staff to coordinate with past service providers to restore internet and phone service before moving operations.
The action taken was procedural: staff were authorized to proceed with procurement within existing spending limits and to prepare the site for occupancy. Next steps recorded in the meeting included confirming service providers for internet/phone, completing a short equipment list (burnisher, mowers, vacuum), and coordinating with maintenance staff on an ongoing custodial plan.
