The Boulder City Audit Review Committee recommended awarding the city's audit services contract to CPA firm Hinton Burdick at its meeting, after Finance Director Cynthia Snead said the firm scored highest in a competitive request-for-proposals process.
"This item number 2 is a request for this committee to recommend the selection of a CPA firm, Hinton Burdick, to be awarded the audit services contract for the next 5 years," Cynthia Snead, finance director for the city, told the committee. She said the engagement would run from fiscal year 2025 through fiscal year 2029 with an optional two-year extension.
Snead said the city's procurement process produced three proposals and that an evaluation committee reviewed and scored them. "We had 4 evaluators on the committee," she said, and one committee member also participated in that evaluation process.
After brief discussion and confirmation of the evaluation process, Snead moved to hire Hinton Burdick and forward the recommendation to the City Council. The motion was seconded by the chair, verbal ayes were called and the motion passed.
