The Boulder City Business License Liquor Board on March 6 unanimously approved three routine items, including special-event gambling permits for a nonprofit "Bow Wow Bingo" fundraiser and a senior-center raffle.
The meeting opened with roll call and the Pledge of Allegiance before the board approved the Jan. 29, 2025 meeting minutes on a voice vote. No members of the public spoke during the initial or final public comment periods.
Staff described the first permit request as an application from Seaspot Run, a qualified Boulder City nonprofit, for a bingo-and-raffle event called "Bow Wow Bingo" to be held at Chili Jilly's, 1680 Boulder City Parkway, on April 25. "The event will be for 21 years and up and bingo and raffle prizes are ranging from $25 to $150," the staff member said, adding that the event "has been held previously and the proceeds will be used for the dog park at Veterans Park that they maintain." Staff told the board the application "meets all the requirements of Boulder City Code 4-4," and the board approved the permit by voice vote.
The board then considered a raffle permit for the Senior Center, which staff described as a qualified nonprofit. The staff member said the raffle drawing is scheduled for March 14, with ticket sales to precede the drawing in front of the Boulder Dam Credit Union, and that prizes range from about $50 to $250. "The proceeds from this raffle go to supporting Meals on Wheels and other vital programs provided by the senior center," staff said. The board approved that permit by unanimous voice vote.
Each approval was announced by the Chair as passing unanimously; the record does not show roll-call tallies or named seconders for the motions. The Chair closed the meeting after a final public comment period in which no callers spoke.
