The Boulder City Planning Commission on June 18 approved a conditional use permit allowing a food-vendor trailer owned by Rolando Madreno to operate at 800 Nevada Way at the Boulder City Inn.
City planner Nikisha Lyons told the commission the trailer, proposed to occupy about 112 square feet near the motel frontage, would operate Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Lyons said the site has water, power and sewer access and that utilities, fire and public works had reviewed the application and raised no objections. She said the utilities department would require a grease trap interceptor once the vendor connects to sewer and that any power work must comply with applicable electrical and fire codes.
Applicant Rolando Madreno, who identified himself as the owner of BC Dam Tacos, told the panel he had closed operations in 2021 after health-department enforcement that related to gray-water handling but had since corrected the issues. “We were able to correct all the violations,” Madreno said, adding that the new health regulations allow a truck to remain in one location if it has required water, power and sewer hookups. He said he would obtain a health-department inspection and approval before fully operating at the new location.
With no members of the public speaking on the item, Commissioner (speaker 5) moved to approve the resolution (12-69) containing findings and conditions for CU 25-283; a second was received and the motion carried on a voice vote.
The permit approval is conditioned on adherence to staff recommendations, required building permits for electrical and grease-trap connections, and any final health-department approvals. The commission’s action grants permission for the food trailer to occupy the noted area permanently under the conditional-use framework; any future changes to the approved plans would require additional review.
