Mark Aistreich, Westwood Hills Nature Center manager, praised Mandler’s ‘‘dedication to outstanding service and genuine kindness’’ and called her presence at the center ‘‘a lasting impact on both the community and her colleagues.’’ Mandler addressed the council and recounted memories from her decades of service.
Council member Budd read a proclamation establishing March 25, 2026, as SLP Unity Day, recognizing parent and PTA organizing at Aquila School and community fundraising efforts; organizers present included Diane Jackson and Ross Teichner, who described school-based and neighborhood contributions to the initiative.
