RESOLUTION 4-20-2026B authorizes, subject to available funds, a one-time home purchase relocation payment of $2,500 and a one-time rental assistance payment of $1,250 to eligible applicants who relocate to Tama County. Eligibility is limited to current or former service members with discharges other than dishonorable (or members on Active Duty, Reserve or National Guard status) who either currently reside outside Tama County, have relocated within the past 90 days, or are actively relocating to the county.
The resolution sets proof and verification requirements (proof of service, proof of relocation or prior residence, deed or lease documentation, and proof of marital status when spousal ownership or leasing is relied upon). It also requires that every application be considered and approved by majority vote of the Board at a duly noticed public meeting and limits assistance to a one-time award per applicant unless the Board provides otherwise. The Board may direct county staff to develop application forms and administrative procedures to implement the program.
The resolution took effect immediately upon adoption. The minutes record the resolution passed by roll call vote with all supervisors voting aye.
