Two people used the public-comment period at a Friendswood City meeting to announce bids for city council.
Sally Branson identified herself and said she is planning to run for re-election for city council, adding that the upcoming term would be her fourth and final term and asking for support.
Joe Matranga introduced himself, gave a residence address in Friendswood (308 North Cliff Ridge), thanked officials for their work, and said he is currently on the city council in Position 5 and is also running for re-election.
After the public comments the chair moved the meeting to routine business; the prior meeting minutes were moved, seconded, and approved unanimously.
No campaign details, filing deadlines, or formal candidate paperwork were presented during the meeting; speakers spoke during the public-comment portion only.
