Later in the meeting the Road and Bridge supervisor presented payroll calculations to support an out-of-cycle pay raise for 11 full-time equipment operators, one part-time operator and two full-time mechanics. The supervisor said the raises would increase the department's portion of the 2026 payroll to $869,252.08 (from a $894,516 figure in the budget discussion) and that a $25,263.20 year-end balance would remain. Projected raises would not affect management salaries, the supervisor said. Commissioners moved and approved the pay raises to take effect in the next pay period.
During both votes commissioners asked clarifying questions about items in the AP list and the payroll math. No roll-call objections were recorded in the transcript; the board recorded ayes and carried both measures.
