Crookston City Council on Monday approved a resolution to notify the state Deed that Crookston will not use deed development grant funds originally earmarked for the Red River Valley Show Building.

"We haven't received it," Jeff said in explaining the request, adding that the funds "were earmarked for us, but we have not received it," so the city is notifying Deed it will not utilize the funds and they can be reallocated.
The council had no further amendments and carried the motion on roll call. Supporters said the step is procedural and intended to allow Deed to redirect those grant dollars to other projects.
