Council approves one-year HR contract with ABDO to fill immediate staffing needs

The Dayton City Council on June 10 approved a one-year HR services agreement with ABDO to provide a core compliance package for 2025, giving the city additional HR hours without increasing the current year's budget.
Staff said the city has used ABDO previously and recommended a core compliance package that would provide the most flexible hours. "By getting the most number of hours involved, we are able to blend the rate as best as possible," staff member Zach said. Councilor moved to approve the core compliance package for 2025 and the motion carried 4-0 after a second.
Staff said the contract covers 2025 and that the council will revisit HR needs in 2026 to determine whether to continue with the consultant or hire an in-house HR manager.
