Clarksburg council approves FY2026–27 budget totaling $18.5 million

Clarksburg City Council on March 19 approved its fiscal year 2026–27 budget, the city announced during its regular session.
City staff presented the aggregate appropriations: $18,546,864 for the general fund; $71,000 for the coal severance tax fund; $276,000 for the police escrow fund; $2,143,141 for the excess property tax fund; $1,802,000 for the financial stabilization fund; $7,230,000 for the sales and use tax fund; and $1,762,750 allocated for the Robinson Grant Performing Arts Center. A public hearing was noticed in the Clarksburg Exponent on March 4 and March 18; no members of the public spoke during the hearing.
A motion to approve the budget was moved and seconded and passed by voice vote during the meeting.
City staff indicated the budget materials would be posted on the city’s website for public review.
