Parks staff (S8) said a competing vendor quoted about $32,301 cheaper but had a 12'14 week delivery timeline, limited city references and some reports of delayed installation; GameTime could deliver in 6'8 weeks and meet a $100,000 Hennepin County grant requirement to use funds by May 2026. "Out of grant funding, we were awarded $100,000 from the Hennepin Youth Sports GRAMA... the grant needs to be used by May 2026," S8 said. The parks commission voted unanimously to recommend GameTime.
Councilmembers discussed price delta and grant timing; S2 noted that failure by the slower vendor to meet the grant deadline could leave the city without grant reimbursement. The council moved to award the contract to GameTime and approved the motion 5-0.
Staff will finalize contract documents and proceed with delivery/installation according to GameTime's schedule to ensure grant compliance.
