Dodge County accepts architect insurance certificate as courthouse historic-tax-credit work is reviewed

The Dodge County Board of Supervisors on Nov. 13 accepted a Certificate of Liability Insurance from Berggren Architects, P.C., a step county staff said will be filed with the American Institute of Architects standard owner–architect agreement once the agreement is approved.
Board materials noted that Doug Elting of Berggren Architects previously briefed the Board on the Nebraska Historic Tax Credit and that the Dodge County Courthouse, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, would be a qualifying applicant for credits on eligible courthouse improvements. County Attorney Hopkins told the Board the architect agreement is under legal review.
No vote on tax-credit application strategy or funding was taken at the meeting; the action at the Nov. 13 session was limited to accepting the insurance certificate and moving the agreement through legal review.
