Engineer updates: MPCA planning grant awarded for Masten Creek sewer project; 2025 street bids set

Brandon said the full project is estimated at about $3 million and the MPCA award will fund survey, floodplain modeling, preliminary design and public engagement; staff expects a local match of about $60,000 to reach the ~$150,000 scope shown in the grant application.
Brandon also reviewed the recent open house for the Southwest Reconstruction project and said weekly construction updates and a project contact list will be posted on the city website for resident signups. He said the city will direct residents to contact the construction observer and the contractor before contacting the city council about construction questions.
Finally, Brandon said the 2025 street project is out for bids (bid opening planned for April 18) and that the council will be asked at a future meeting to call the assessment hearing (scheduled for May 14) and to consider the assessment roll for property owners.
