Boone County board appoints highway superintendent to study 330th Avenue, approves interlocal police protection agreement

A Boone County resident raised concerns about classification and maintenance of a portion of County Road commonly known as 330th Avenue. The board approved Resolution No. 2026-07 appointing the Highway Superintendent to conduct a feasibility/road study for 330th Avenue between 150th and 160th Street; motion carried unanimously.
Separately, the board accepted Resolution No. 2026-08, an Interlocal Agreement with the City of Albion to provide shared police protection within city limits and joint jurisdiction for extra-territorial zoning. Commissioners voted unanimously to approve the interlocal agreement; the board noted the agreement was unchanged from the prior year.
The board also approved an Assignment Agreement with Collection Professionals Inc. to pursue unpaid Boone County Ambulance accounts and recorded the action as approved. Veterans Service Officer Robert McCurdy described a potential $2,000 discretionary disbursement from the 1900 Veterans Aid Fund for a veteran's funeral and said he would submit a vendor claim; the board took no formal action on that request during the meeting.
During public comment and departmental updates, officials reported on personnel matters, the First Concord FSA plan (to be reviewed at a future meeting), a contractor quote for a road shop breakroom, and a courthouse rooftop-unit replacement. Rod Nelson noted a statewide tornado drill earlier in the week. Chairman Jon Lindgren adjourned the meeting at 12:10 P.M.
