Kasson City — At its Aug. 19 meeting the Kasson City Park Board received project updates: a new modular Northeast Playground is installed and open (final spinner pieces pending dry conditions), inclusive-swing fundraising has surpassed $20,000, and the board approved minutes from June and adjourned by voice vote.
Staff member said the Northeast modular playground is up, that two spinner elements remain to be installed once a wet corner dries, and that wood chips were placed to meet standards. "That modular is up and going," the staff member said.
On the inclusive swing, staff reported more than $20,000 raised and hoped to begin excavation and breaking ground Sept. 1, contingent on wrapping up the playground work and confirmation of donated concrete or other in-kind help.
Correspondence items included a request for an update on Veterans Memorial fundraising and a note that the Lions Club stepped in to assist at a rain-limited festival. The meeting closed after a motion to adjourn was seconded and approved by voice vote.
Votes at a glance: the board approved the June meeting minutes by voice; members also approved adjournment by voice at the meeting’s close. No other formal ordinances, contracts or funding votes were recorded in the transcript.
