City public‑works staff described plans to move ahead with pavement repairs on East French Lake Road and 125th Avenue (from Territorial to Fernbrook) after lower-than-expected bids on a separate project freed up capacity. The scope includes mill/overlay work and some culvert and storm‑sewer repairs; staff estimated construction and related costs at about $1,000,000.
Council approved an engineering contract to prepare plans and specifications so the project can be bid this summer. Staff said the accelerated schedule is aggressive but feasible; if bids come in too high the city can reject bids and rebid in spring 2026.
Staff also said adding the small Stone Hearth Ridge neighborhood segment is cost‑efficient when done with the larger project because separate mobilization would be more expensive.
Council vote to approve the engineering proposal carried unanimously.
