Bradley County’s commission approved the meeting minutes and a broad consent agenda on April 20 that included a long list of budget amendments, appointments and asset-disposal requests. Commissioner Howard Lewis Thompson moved to approve the minutes; the motion carried unanimously.
Commissioner Milan M. Blake removed one item from the Consent Agenda for separate consideration: a Sheriff's Office budget amendment totaling $83,200 described in the packet as "reimbursement for post in-service training." After debate and a separate roll-call vote, the Sheriff's Office amendment was approved with 12 ayes and two commissioners recorded as "pass." The packet contains detailed budget forms and Finance Committee recommendations for many departmental amendments (roads, EMS, juvenile court, medical examiner and others).
The Commission also approved the Legal & Legislative Committee recommendation to adopt the Industrial Development Board tax increment financing policies and procedures (Item B) by a 13-1 vote, with Commissioner Scott Gilbert voting no on that item. Commissioners then approved a rezoning request (Item C) for property on Jenson Ave SE (Resolution 2026-07) by a unanimous vote.
