"The impact has been incredible... Our students are more confident in their learning. Our families are more confident on campus," a Crestwood presenter said. Two families addressed the board in Spanish to thank the school for the classes; Diana Patino, who identified herself as a parent, told the board she and her son are from Mexico and expressed appreciation for the program. An interpreter translated several family remarks into English.
The board also recognized academic acceptances and extracurricular achievements. Superintendent noted five Oldham County students were accepted to the Gatton Academy of Mathematics and Science and four to the Craft Academy; trustees invited principals forward for photos. Separately, the districts speech team competed at the Kentucky High School Speech League state tournament at Murray State University and finished state champion runner-up; coaches and student winners were named and congratulated.
