The Janesville Common Council unanimously approved awarding three contracts in Bid Schedule G for 2025, covering utility structure rehabilitation, water and sewer system improvements and an EPDM roof replacement at Pumping Station No. 14.
City Engineer Brad Rentz told the council the low bids were Beyond Limestone at about $807,000 for the utility structure work; a water-and-sewer contract low bid of about $1,880,000 (T Fox); and Neiman Roofing at $163,600 for the EPDM roof replacement. Rentz said these bids were at or slightly below the city's estimates and recommended awarding all three with the funding approach outlined in the council memo.
A motion to award the contracts (C2026-1, C2026-2 and C2026-8) was made by Vice President Squire and seconded by Council Member Nino, and the council approved the awards unanimously.
The work will proceed under the contracts and be funded as described in the staff memo; Rentz said additional bid schedules will return to the council for awards as they close.
