Posey County Sheriff Tom Latham presented three quotes March 3 to remove dust from vents and ducts at the county jail: Stanley Steamer $21,025.00; Serve Pro $26,595.95; Hassgo $43,200.00. Latham recommended the lowest proposal from Stanley Steamer. Commissioner Greg Newman moved to approve the Stanley Steamer proposal; Commissioner Eric Koester seconded and the motion carried 3-0.
Auditor Maegen Greenwell asked where the expense would be charged; Sheriff Latham said the cost would be covered by the Jail Maintenance fund. In department updates, Sheriff Latham reported inmate housing counts: Department of Correction 11; Vanderburgh County 9; Posey County 83; total 103.
The board’s approval authorizes the county to contract with Stanley Steamer for the described duct and vent cleaning; the transcript does not include a contract number or a procurement document reference.
