Posey County opens Western Bypass bids; takes highway bids under advisement

At the March 3 meeting Commissioner Bill Collins announced the bids opened for the Western Bypass project and read the amounts: Roedell $12,460,089.51; Blankenburger $12,670,000.00; Weddle Brothers $12,230,812.89. Commissioner Greg Newman moved to take the bids under advisement until the next commissioners meeting; the motion carried 3-0.
Commissioner Collins also noted that the county received bids for Posey County Highway Department work from David Enterprises, JH Rudolph and E&B Paving. Commissioner Eric Koester moved to take the highway bids under advisement; Commissioner Greg Newman seconded and the motion carried 3-0. The transcript does not list dollar amounts for the highway bids in the meeting record.
The board did not award either contract at the March 3 meeting; staff will review the bids and present recommendations at a future meeting.
