The committee approved awarding the village towing contract to Redmond’s Towing of Schaumburg after staff said Redmond was the sole bidder and has provided towing services to the village since 2007. Police staff noted only minor price increases and said the changes will have no impact on the village budget. “Redmond was the sole bidder in this contract. We’ve been using them since 2007,” the police representative said.
The committee also approved a three‑year master software license with Dacratech LLC (DACA), which both police and code use for adjudication of citations. Staff described a revised fee structure: "Right now we're paying $17.50 a month, with 500 citations. And then this would go to 2,000 per month for next year, starting in July for the next year. And that would allow us 500 citations. Anything over the 500 citations would be a $3 fee," staff said. Committee members had no further questions and approved the contract by voice vote.
Finally, the committee agreed to pursue an intergovernmental agreement with the Village of Schaumburg for reciprocal temporary use of emergency response vehicles. Fire department staff said the arrangement is intended to allow occasional loaning of reserve vehicles if a town’s vehicle is unavailable for an extended repair and emphasized the parties expect such borrowing to be rare. “We note that there is no cost to it,” the fire representative said, and added that Schaumburg’s committee would review the item in May with its board expected to consider the agreement in June.
Committee members received monthly police, health-and-human-services and fire reports; the police and fire departments were thanked for recent mutual assistance and community outreach work. All three resolutions passed by voice vote; minutes record “the ayes have it.”
