Trustees provisionally set the date for the community’s Largest Clam Contest and discussed logistics and volunteer staffing.
David said the organizers had looked at low tides and initially proposed Oct. 3, but the group agreed to "let's say October 4," subject to tide checks and conflicts with other town events. He said a trustee subcommittee will handle music, vendors and vendor bookings and that Celia (absent) had proposed using a raffle to handle donations.
Trustees asked staff to check tides, confirm availability with the Life Saving Station Museum (which had expressed interest in using the grounds) and to post the date for volunteers to sign up. No formal vote was taken; the date is provisional pending confirmation of tides and other scheduling checks.
