The Hurst City Council approved an application from the Northeast Mall to host Flip Circus in April 2026, following staff review and a presentation from the promoter.
Assistant city staff (Malaika Farmer) explained that the event application was submitted under the city’s economic-development agreement with Simon Property Group and that required layouts and plans had been provided to inspections. Mall staff and the applicant confirmed that fire and building inspections will be completed before the event opens to the public.
Carlos de la Garza, the promoter, told the council the circus is a family show (no animals), will run three weeks with three-week setup and run windows, and that ticket prices range from about $35 to $70, with children priced at roughly $20 on some days. “We are excited to bring our family circus over here to Hurst,” Carlos said. When asked about sales tax, the applicant confirmed sales tax on admissions is collected and remitted to the comptroller and agreed to verify that the local portion of the tax is correctly reported to Hurst.
Council approved the application; staff noted inspections will happen before the first performance and that the event is permitted under the mall agreement.
